  1. You need a placed horse in every race the first six races on the card

  2. depends on the size of the field.  you horse has to be in the first two in Races with 7 runners or less. In races with between 8-15 runners your horse will be placed if it finishes in the first Three and in races with 16 runners or more your horse counts for placepot purposes if it finishes in the first  four!

  3. Your still in, 1st 3 in a 14 runner m8, good luck

  4. You are still ok.

If you are talking about the festival, then some of the races will be for 1st 4 placed.

  5. Jack H is right , however I don't think any enhanced place offers would count(Eg.5 places) as the placepot is a Tote Pool bet and not a bet with the bookies as such.But  8 or over is at least 3 places.

  6. Yes your fine 1st 2nd 3rd in for races consisting of 8 or more runners. Heres a little table so you can look next time

    less then 5 horses....1st only

    5,6,7 horses....1st 2nd

    8+ runners,non-handicap race....1st 2nd 3rd

    16+ runners,handicap races 1st 2nd 3rd 4th

Look for special prices that some bookmakers offer on selected days,if theres a really big field..the grand national for example some bookies offer up to 5th place

    good luck
