Places to do work experience with children..?

Other than a Primary School, where could I apply to do work experience with children?

childrens ward at you local hospital?

sports arena/leisure centre? a lot of sports arenas/complexes/leisure centres run day care's for children and play-schemes where they play loads of different sports.

you could try local child minders - some of them are allowed to take work experience people.  

Day nurseries, sports centre creches, childrens centres.

Try to find Mother's Day out program's at local churches, Head Start Programs, or even some private schools that have year-round programs are also options.  If you contact the director of the program most will be happy to schedule a tour of their facility and then after you pass a background check will allow you to get observation hours/work experience.

check the website for local day  care, playgroups, drop-ins and children's centres in your area. If you contact the persons on the list directly they will let you know if they welcome work experience placements. Yopu will need to do a crb check if you are over 16.

Many more opportunities for volunteering to meet the requirement of work experience.

Children's hospital

YMCA or similar

Daycares/preschools

before/after school care programs

Libraries often have programs

in-home child care/preschool programs

Amusement parks or children's petting zoos

Does your local entertainment "hub" in your city do children's entertainment?  They are always looking for volunteers

Children's museums, science centers

Baby sitting

Create your own summer program for your neighborhood kids.
