Places to drive fast in the US?

Are there any places in the US (tracks, ranges, etc.) where you can take your car and drive as fast as you want?

Montana put a speed limit back in about 2 years ago, check nevada for the silver state classic.

Years ago my Grandpa told me in the 80s when he bought his brand new Jaguar XJS he went down to Texas and was on some highway with no speed limit. He floored it and let the thing go as fast as it could for several minutes.. said he scared the **** out of himself (Grandma obviously wasn't in the passenger's seat!). I don't know exactly where this is though, just remembering something he told me years ago. A lot of States must have highways like this.
