Recently broke my leg. Now on crutches with leg in a long cast. I have stucked at home for over 1 week. I really want to go out before I die of boredom. I can drive, but I will be going out alone. Any suggestions on where I can go? Perhaps, museums, malls?

  1. Try to get some friends together and go out to lunch or dinner. You can also go to the movies.

I wouldn't go to a mall or museum on crutches, I was on crutches after breaking my foot, and it's not comfortable to go too far on crutches. It's tiring, and they hurt your armpits and sides.

Just think of things that you normally like to do, then think how easy they'll be able to do with crutches.

Sorry, I've been there and know the boredom you feel.

  2. I just spent four months in a long cast and did almost anything on my crutches that I did with two good legs, within reason.  I walked a lot on my crutches, park, shopping, walked the mall and stopped to try on shoes.  Be active and the time will fly by.  Hope this  helps, email if you have questions.

  3. Go to a movie but be careful driving with a cast on. If you are in an accident you will probably be found liable.

  4. I have a broken leg right now (serious break), but instead of lying in bed for a long time I just called over a friend and we watched an old movie he brought. Then he drove me to the pizza hut nearby. I didn't want to drive because i was already in serious pain, but you can drive if you want. just make sure you have a friend to call for help just in case something happens. Since your arms can get really tired walking around using crutches you may want to get a wheelchair. Movies are pretty good but try to find a seat near the door, because usually that's the best place to sit if you have some disabilities.
