There are several sites to trek near Mumbai. I will say .. unlimited ( am not joking ).

If you are in Mumbai, why not join a good trekking group. These groups organise the treks and you will have to participate only. It is a good idea because "solo treks" will be dangerous as well as difficult ( I did that wild thing when I was really young and unmindful of conditions - in fact most of my treks had been 'solos" ). But then I joined good groups and am happy.

Most of the treks are in Khopoli - Karjat - Malshej areas, then many more in Konkan belt ( Panvel - Pen - Alibag - Janjira areas ) and few on western railway side. It will be very difficult to provide detailed descriptions in this forum ( please understand there are more than 125 treks in and around Mumbai ). You can ask for specific treks and I can give you details ( that's a promise - I like it most when more people turn trekkers ).
