Places to visit in Tokyo..?

Hello all,

I will be visiting Tokyo in a couple of weeks.. I was wondering where are the top places to go eat and go shopping in Tokyo.. Are there any suggestions as to where to stay where everything is in walking distance (downtown tokyo?) Are there any night markets with lots of food and shoppings? cheap cheap cheap is the key for me!!

So you're coming to Tokyo... nice one : ) Don't worry you won't run out of things to do! I'm including a couple of links for you in the resource box - one is a great site for selecting restaurants in different areas - they give you an idea on price etc as well as map and menu. The second one is about the city of Tokyo itself with info about places etc.

Night markets - well Tokyo is not like the rest of Asia - or SE Asia - but there are shops everywhere. They are usually open in city centers until around 10 or 11pm at night. You should visit a shop called Don Quixote - you can find a big one in Shibuya or one in Roppongi. This is a shop full of bargains - but it's busy so be ready to do some hustling ; )
