  1. A quick google map shows some options...

A tin mine really is Cornwall...

Lands End itself is an over-developed tourist trap.  If you must do it, park in Sennen Cove and walk to it the mile and a bit up around the cliffs.

The Minack Theatre, perched on the cliff edge further south is spectacular, and an evening performance out of this world. (In good weather!)

    Goonhilly Earth station.

    The Lizard...

  2. The town of Padstow is lovely. It's a little fishing village with great seafood restaurants. Rick Stein the TV chef has a few restaurants there (although not cheap!).

If you can get a car, there are lovely drives all over the coast on the cliff tops.

Newquay is also a great surfing town in the summer.

Both of these are north of St. Ives.

Penzance is south and that's a great town. There are lots of little places to visit on the way and lovely secluded beaches too. Quite easy to find if you have a car.

  3. St Ives is lovely and there's a lot to do in the town ... it's great fun just to wander round the cobbled streets (have a real freshly made Cornish pasty and clotted cream scones) and explore the side pathways ... there's lots of arty shops there (if it doesn't have a price tag on it, don't ask because you can't afford it) and there's the Tate gallery (modern art, ceramics) and the Barbara Hepworth museum ... there's boat trips and surfing too ... you could take a day trip to Lands End (the tourist bit is a tacky but walk past it and go and enjoy the views) ... if you can afford it the day trip by helicopter from Penzance over to the Scilly Isles is stunning ... or there's the open air Minack theatre at Porthcurno which is built into the cliff so as you're watching the show you have the sea and the sunset as a backdrop (but take a warm blanket or sleeping bag with you because it gets quite chilly later on)
