What companies have online employment apps?

Should I still call those places and check the status of my app?

  1. A lot of places do have online applications.  If the place you're interested in working is part of a chain, check the corporate homesite and click the "Employment" link.

Sometimes you need to have a code to fill in the application and you get the code from the manager of the store that you're applying for.  One example in my town is McDonald's, where the manager gives the code and tells you to fill out the application online.  I guess it cuts down on his paperwork, but he still gets a first look at people to see if he wants to hire them.

For places that don't require you to get the code--and I believe that most don't--I think it's a great idea to go in and talk to the manager.  It can't hurt your chances to let the person know that you care enough about the job to make that effort.

    Good luck with your job-hunting.
