  1. If her cell phone SIM card is from the USA, dial her normal US phone number with area code. If the SIM card is from Nicaragua you may have to dial 011 ( international ) then the country code and the local number.

  2. I'm surprised, she may be surprised when she gets her bill. I had "T - Mobile" and "Sprint" down there. It really depends on your service and their Technology i.e. system used. Your best bet is to buy a phone there but you'll need a local resident to sign for it. For calls to the US it's best to find the right "Internet" .......They are all over the place, I was in at least 10 different ones in Managua, 2 had a "Special" Line direct to Miami - Incredibly clear and cheep - All of the Internet places can plug in their cell to a computer. Half the time the connection terrible. Look for these "Special" phones, all I know about them is they utilize "Linksys" box ....This company is in Irvine, CA owned by "Cisco" .......Cell ??? If your phone has a "Sim" card ...It can be done ......at $2.00 an Hr. for International. Good Luck,   M. Swanson
