I have just came back from holiday myself and was at Palma Airport where that plane was destined for.....

I am terrified of flying myself and only do it so the kids can go abroad - I just wanted to know has anybody had any bad experiences whilst flying???

I mean like emergency landings or anything like that...

My heart broke watching the news yesterday for those poor people.

  1. I have a phobia about flying. My wife was brought up in NZ and we have been 7 times to see her relatives.

With a total airborne time of about 25 hours and a journey time of up to 31 it is sheer torture for me. But because I love her and want her to see her family when she needs to then I put up with it.

In the past I have had acupuncture which worked and taken alternative herbals which mostly worked.

On one occasion flying from Hong Kong to Auckland the plane hit an air pocket and 'fell' for about 10 seconds. Scary. But my wife and most of the others slept through it. I find I pray a lot !!

  2. Hit by lightning over Lisbon.

  3. hey!

noo i didnt but i always fly on Boeing or Airbus aircrafts because really those are the most trusted companies that make aircrafts.  And i also dont fly on low cost airlines because i dont trust them =]

  4. You know most people's fear of flying comes from the sense of not having control.  Flying is actually statistically MUCH safer than driving.  Statistically, one would have to fly 55 million times before there would be in a plane crash.  Tell that to people who have lost someone in a plane crash right?  I fly quite a bit, and the way I look at it is if it is my time to go then it is my time to go.  It's not going to matter if I am in a plane or laying in my bed sleeping.  That usually gets me through a lot of things.

  5. never bin abroud

  6. There are no many accidents on the road and in the air. My son wants to go abroad in December with his dad and I am dreading it. So sad about the plane crash.

  7. I was on a place from Melbourne to Hong Kong once, and the weather was so bad in Hong Kong that we couldn't land and there were loads of planes all trying to do the same, so the pilot came on the tannoy and said that we didn't have enough fuel to stay in the holding pattern so we had to go and land in Manila in the Philippines - he then did the worst landing I've ever experienced in Manila because he came in much too fast. It was very scary and and wished I hadn't been travelling alone at the time.
