Plane prices?

Are the prices to buy a plane going to go up or down over the years for a small plane like a cessna 172

The new prices are going up tremendously. I recently saw a new 172SP with a G1000 panel for sale at a N. California airport for $285,000. Seems a little steep to me.

Good used aircraft are available for very reasonable prices in comparison. 172's are still increasing in value but not as steeply as a few years ago. Between the slowing economy and the rapid changes in aircraft technology (like G1000), used aircraft prices are starting to level off a bit.
