Question:

Plane sickness?

I'm going to be going on a plane (7+ hr flight) on the 27th of this month, and I'm terrified. One of the things I'm worried about is plane sickness. I can get car sick very easily, but people have all different answers on plane sickness. Some have told me that it doesn't feel like you're moving, that you can't see anything moving out the windows, really, so it doesn't cause sickness, and others have told me that the take-off and landing will definitely make me sick. I'm going to bring Dramamine or something, but I wanted to see you guys' opinions. Also, are there any drugs besides Dramamine that won't make me all dopey but will work better with plane sickness?

  1. Hi!

Flying might make you sick if you are flying for the first time.  Flying isn't scary at all. The aircraft is in fully control of atleast two pilots, thee in your case as you have 7+ hour flight.

If you are afraid of height and if that is something that make you dizzy, then don't look out side of the window.

When you are crusing, take a look out. Watch the nice pluffy clouds and sun glare, even round Moon if you are flying at night.

First time I ever flew , it was Jumbo Jet. I thought take-offs and Landings were the ONLY fun part of the entire 11 hour flight.

  2. Use zofran, its expenisve, but it works for my stomach akes i get really quickly!! (aches as in i get ill , not plane or motion sickness ) Anyway...

You really dont feel like your moving at all. at the begining you will feel some movement because your on the ground for like 5 mins to get to the runway, then you speed up really really really fast... not to freak you out or anything lol

Just chew some gum, and think about some thing else read, draw, listen to music, watch a movie or something to get ur mind off of it, its really cool though, when you get  up high in the sky above the clouds, you can see the tops of the clouds, its really neat!!

Maybe you can make friends with the attendant, so you can talk with someone, to get ur mind off of being on the plane!

  3. okay i was plane sick to!! think of being in the car and having it be like 1000 times worse.. i haste the cabin pressure and went you take off and land the pressue like pushes you down into your seat and it hurts so bad i cant even tell you...

    brutally honest.. :(
