Can they be out back into producation? Like the 757, can boeing start remaking it? Or the 727, 717 etc? If there is a high demand for them?

  1. Yes they could, but it wouldn't be economical cus a lot of structures, jigs and other things used in making those planes were probably torn down after they stopped production and it'd cost a lot to start them up again. But i guess if Boeing got a massive order from lets say the military for a military plane based on the 757 and Boeing considers the cost, sees that they'd make a profit out of it, then that could make them consider restarting production.

  2. Most likely they could but why? Aviation has changed so much in the last 20 years, the R & D that has gomne into building these planes to make them faster and more green would require that the planes be re-engineered to todays specs. I dont think any company would do that, they may as well just make a 787 / 797 with similar attributes.

Plus no airlines would buy them they need to stay ahead of the curve to keep bringing in travelers.

  3. No reason to remake the 727 or 717. They are old gas guzzlers. Newer engines, airframes, and wing designes such as the 787 are much more efficient than a 727 or 707, 717. I didnt know they stopped the 757.
