Plane trouble.?

okay so im going to italy tonight, and the plane ride is about 8-9 hours. i really have never been on a plane for more than 4 hours so im scared and nervous like crazy. what are some things to keep my mind off the long ride and the anxiety of it all, besides sleeping because i doubt ill be able to fall asleep, but if you have tips for that they will do too. but when my ipod dies and im going crazy ill need some things to keep my busy! thanks :]

  1. You should bring books. Thats one thing to do. Also on some planes there are TVs that you can watch so hopefully you have that. 8-9 is going to seem like a lot but the trip to italy will be a lot longer so try to stay positive. One thing that helps me on planes are an activity. I knit, so I bring that. If you have any activitys that you can bring onto the plane that helps! I hope you have fun on your trip!

    P.S. I recomend Pompei it is really cool!


  2. get up as much as possible- i walked back and forth in the aisle as much as i could without annoying people- or ask a flight attendant if you can just go stand and stretch in the back where they keep the drink carts- if you do that every hour or so- you won't get so ansy and you can give your ipod a break. they should have an in flight movie- so take advantage- even if it's not one of your choice- it saves your ipod time and you may fall asleep watching it. bring your own pillow- wet ones for freshening up- as everyone smells kinda stale after long flights and snacks- they like to make passengers sleep so there is this long like three hour term of flight attendants disappearing- if you bring - gum snacks a couple of drinks on board you won't be hungry or dependent on the airline food. have a drink if you can (alcoholic) bring a puzzle book- they are light and take concentration which can lead you away from the constant- "how much longer" thoughts- wear stretchy cotton pants and a tank top and bring a very light jacket- sometimes they blast the Ac and sometimes they turn it way down. close your window if you start to have anxiety about being over water- if you are not in the window seat ask the person to close it- if they won't then go back to your puzzle book. best wishes!
