  1. Flying is much safer than driving. Try it. You will find it is a whole other world upstairs and probably enjoy it.

  2. I'm also generally afraid of heights too, Flying is very different for me, when I'm in an airplane I feel secure im very comfortable in a nice soft seat with a belt and a beutifull view of the world below nothing like being up high (eg, looking over a d**n or a building)

im working on my Liscences  btw

  3. you'd only notice when its taking or turning sharply

  4. I'm just like John B. I am afraid of heights. Get me on a ladder and my knees start shaking! I fly for a commercial airline in the US for the past 23 yrs. I feel very secure inside the plane. It won't bother you at all. Get on the plane, you will love it and before you know it you will be at your destination.

  5. I myself have a GREAT fear of heights, such as looking from a scenic viewpoint of the Grand Canyon. I'll stay back from the rail, thank you very much. However, I have no fear of flying. What I think is going on, in my case, is a fear of FALLING from heights. As long as I'm enclosed, I'm ok.

If you've never flown before, try the shortest flight you can find (for me, it's to Las Vegas, about 30-40 minutes) and see how you handle it. Better than a 5 hours flight that turns out you can't hang with!

  6. I have a fear of heights too. Can't even climb on a ladder. And I've been a pilot for forty years.

  7. You have a better chance of walking outside and get struck by lightning on a clear day than getting in a plane crash.

  8. once u listen tht if u will sit in the plane,u will enjoy and u will not safer, tht's all,coz i have sat many times in the plane,i have the experience

  9. I got a seat toward the center of the aircraft and imagined it was a big bus.

  10. you know the statistics between flying and driving, so get a grip!

  11. Keep thinking it's safer than driving! And also, there's like a 1 out of 100% chance somethings going to happen. Your fine!

  12. At any given time there are thousands of planes in the air. Fatal accidents are very rare.  You'd have to be very self centered or jaded to believe that just because you are going to fly somewhere that there will be an accident.  Air travel is a wonderful thing.  I've crossed the Atlantic many times on overnight flights and on flights across the U.S. without ever having any accidents and I'm not the seasoned traveler that some people are.  You should get on the plane and face your fear after a while you will come to appreciate the miracle of traveling by air.

  13. A fear of heights usually won't cause a problem on an airplane.  In an airplane, you're safely inside the cabin, with absolutely no way to fall out, so even though you may be several miles high, there's no fear of heights.  It's very tame compared to standing on the roof of a tall building or at the edge of a cliff, which is much scarier if you are afraid of heights.

  14. You and 285 other people are sitting there scared to death. Either sit there and forget about it or drive in a car. You won't even feel it once you get off the ground---you can talk to new people--see what you can from the sky--you will love it.

  15. Don't be scared on a plane; before, the flight, there a countless maintenance checks on the ground, followed by repeated checks by the pilot and his/her co-pilot, which is finally followed by checks by the cabin crew~
