I think you'll find that all the "good" ships that do this cruise 3-4 nights round-trip.  If you want, you can buy one of those and just get off in the Bahamas.

Carnival Fascination and RCI Majesty of the Seas both do this.  I've been on both, and they were both good though Fascination was more lively.

Especially if you go in the off-season and mid-week (the 4-night) it won't be that expensive.

That is just a ferry ride.  I have been on that boat and it is old.  But it's just for the day or overnight, so I don't think there is anything nicer out there.

You can go during the day (no overnight) then you don't have to pay for a cabin.  just make sure you reserve your deck chair with a beach towel because they get taken fast!

You won't be able to find a 1 night cruise, but you get on the Royal Caribbean ships at 5 p.m. so when they say 7 nights it's really 6 days, etc.

I don't think that I would call what you are going on a "Cruise" it is more like a Ferry Ride.

there is a ferry out of fort lauderdale. You wont find a "cruise" as the term is used. The ferries do have staterooms, but it costs extra.
