Planing to visit Yosemite Nation Park for the long weekend. Any suggestions for a reasonable accommodation?

Planing to go to Yosemite for the labor day weekend between August 30 and September 1st '08 from San Jose, CA by car. How will be the weather? Is it a good time of the year to go. This will be the first time for us (4 adults) in Yosemite. We do not want to stay far from the park (15-30 mins drive should be ok) at the same time not an expensive place. Where can we stay?

The weather will be great  - If there are no accommodations in the park you can stay in hotels - motels - B&B's and KOA camping cabins (my favorite it's inexpensive  approx 45-85 a night for a cabin that sleeps 4 1double -  2 bunks)  Book it now ! the place fill fast on holidays
