  1. I got mine in at Planned Parenthood before I got insurance, so it was $500... That's the bad news... the good news is that it is actually a good price for a birth control that lasts up to 5 years. That comes up to approximately $9 a month...

I used to be on the pill at Planned Parenthood before, and it cost me about $25 a month, $45-50 for the ring and the patch  (i was on those too before)

So if you are currently spending $25 a month on B/C, the Mirena will have paid for itself in 20 months (less than two years)

For those girls on the ring/patch, it pays for itself in less than a year!

    Sorry :-(

  2. well my IUD cost $500.  I have insurance but I had a $1000 deductable. I wish they were cheaper.  Birth control is way cheaper than having a baby.  Stupid health care

  3. It is extremely expensive, but at Planned Parenthood it should be cheaper. Just call them and ask about it, they usually tell you how much it is out-of-pocket.

  4. you can not get an iud if you haven't had a baby yet??? if so yes it is expensive if you have no insurance. it is kinda risky too, i was in the hospital 2 weeks due to an iud infection. very painful!!!

  5. i went to planned parenthood a few years ago... and when i filled out the forms i had the option of getting everything for FREE since i had no income.

my exam and birth control were completely free. you might want to talk to someone when you get there...

  6. I've been to planned parenthood and i don't have insurance, but that's how i get my birth control. The thing is is that they charge you by what your income is, but if you say you don't have income they may put you on some kind of scale. The good thing is that they keep a taqb and you pay what you can and they just deduct it from what you owe. Also, they don't send you bills to your house they just hold your info there at the office. If you go there yearly for an  annual they may remind you, but they are pretty cool. They are funded by the gov't to help us (surprise). The most my bill has ever been is under $300 but i don't know how much mirena costs, look into it. It will def be cheaper than seeing your doc! Bc you really only pay for what your getting there's no office visit fee or doctor fees. Good Luck
