  1. If you are adventurous, buy a euro train ticket. You can use it in all Europe. No boundaries. You also can save money when you stay overnight in a "Jugendherberge". There you can stay in decent places, it is basic, but cheap. Eat in Gasthoefen, where the locals are going. The food is better than in tourist traps.

  2. Can I suggest a tour group.  www.contiki.com  not a normal tour group.  this is for those 18 - 30 ONLY so it's all youth, its awesome and so much fun.  You get to see soooo much, and it's as cheap as you'll ever find a trip to europe.  At least check it out, if it's not for you all you've lost is 5 minutes looking at the site right? lol.  Anyways, it's a good start.   If anything, it should give you some ideas of things to see.

Good luck and have a GREAT time.

btw. if you decide not to go that route, trains!!! trains are the best way to get around europe! I'd also recommend flying into (and out of if possible) london, you'll save so much moeny on airfar since London is the cheapest place to fly to in europe

  3. Wow that sounds like you're going to have so much fun! My friends and I are planning a trip in 2011 as well, what a coincidence!

I would try EF College Break to plan your trip. They have a 30 day tour of Europe that I think you and your friends would be interested in! The cities you'll get to see are:

    Florence

    Lucerne

    Heidelberg

    Amsterdam

    French Riviera

    Madrid

    Barcelona

    Rome

    Venice

    Paris

    London

The price is around $3500 and it includes EVERYTHING (airfare, hotels, travel logistics, a meal daily, main attractions, etc). This is SOOO convenient because planning those things are such a pain in the butt, trust me! I've done it before and it's such a relief because they take care of it for you. You just need to worry about spending money. They're the guaranteed lowest prices for college students to travel. Plus, they give you tons of free time to party and give good recommendations on night clubs and pubs.

You and your friends can use the discount code Tiu9005 to get an EXTRA $50-$250 off each on your trips too.

I think you'll definitely enjoy Amsterdam, London, and Venice. Those are, by far, my favorite cities that I've been to.

Email me if you have any questions about traveling or anything....I wish you guys the best of luck in planning this!

  4. I guess you are in the US. If so fly in to UK first its the cheapest. See London but also travel north if you get time. Cross to France via the Channel Tunnel to Paris. Take train from Paris to the South of France and see Provence and Cannes etc. Get train along South coast in to Italy. See Rome and Venice. Take train from Venice to Switzerland and then from here to Austria. Visit Vienna and then take a boat from Vienna down the Danube to Budapest. Fly from here to Greece.

ou can get a ticket for the train in UK which will take you all over Europe.
