My husband is turning 29 this year. He is really freaked out by his 30th bday and knows that I will plan a party for his thirtieth. I was thinking of surprising him by planning a 29th birthday party with a 1920's theme. (ie: 1929 - get it?)
He recently (5 months ago) joined Alcoholics Annonymous, so he does not drink any more. He's doing really good with it, and I know this birthday will be harder with him not being able to drink. So I was thinking by doing a 1920's birthday theme (ie: Saying good-bye to the 20's) I would be able to also mention in the invites that unfortunately since it is the time of prohibition, we'd only have non-alcoholic drinks, beer, champagne etc.
That way he wouldn't be the only person not drinking and it wouldn't be as obvious.
Does this sound like a good idea?
