Question:

Planning a Hall of Fame Trip?

Both my boyfriend and I have wanted to go to Cooperstown ever since we were both young (a mutual love of baseball is one of the things that brought us together). We are planning on making the trip some time this autumn and are looking for suggestions as to where to stay, where to eat, etc. Any helpful suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.

  1. I went up there with my family a few years ago, and there are a bunch of small motels, bed & breakfasts, etc...all througout the town.  There are small diners, fast food, etc...as well.

Definintely take a few days to take everything in.  We spent 2 days at the HOF itself and then two days just enjoying the small town.  It's in the middle of nowhere, with nothing really close by other than the town...but they are well equiped with things to do.  Really, all the little places to stay were cute, affordable and within walking distance to the museum.

I would suggest staying at a little motel.  As I said, there are several of them in town that had good deals when we were there.

  2. Cooperstown is a small town in Upstate NY, about 17 mi north of I-88.

I would recommend going during the off-season. There are no crowds, and you can see allot more. In the summer, the crowds are bigger, and you can't get through the whole museum in one day.

Check the HOF website, everything you'll need is on there.

Go, and have fum. You'll really enjoy it if you're a true fan.
