  1. well u could use drinks. like iced tea, soda and other light drinks for a baby shower. and for food get chip and cookies (store bought). and then have a huge cake. and u can get microwavable stuff. good luck!

  2. Walmart food sections prepared chicken and salads. or any grocery store, most have meals for pretty cheap. mini subs are good, get a bunch of footlongs from subway and cut them into thirds. chips, punch, candy pacifiers.

I saw on an episode of "girls next door" where they melted chcolate in diapers and had to guess what was the type of chocolate (like cruch bar, snickers ect.) that looked like a fun game.

  3. howz bout just sending for a take away....less mess...

  4. Crock pot.

    Can do queso

    can do little smokies etc....

  5. chips and dip or salsa

carrots and celery with ranch dressing for dipping

do you have a crock pot? How about meatballs?

    finger sandwiches

    order take out

  6. I would buy a cake and make a pasta salad and grill some burgers.

  7. have sandwiches. You could do a build your own type of thing. Just have a tray of rolls, a tray of meat, a tray of cheese and a tray of veggies! You could also have a pasta salad, a fruit salad, maybe a lettuce salad or veggie tray. And of course cake!

  8. this is a simple recipe and people LOVE it

it takes some preparation but all you need is a fridge

    7 layer bean dip

caneed refried beans~ enough to cover bottom of whatever pan you use~ I use 1 large & 1 small can for a 9X13 cake pan

    then layer these:

    Sour cream

    guacamole

    shredded cheese

    diced tomato

    diced onion

    sliced olives

amount you use is really up to you~personal taste

I use 16 oz each sour cream & guac. they are also tricky to spread and I usually get them mixed up a little as I layer it but it still tastes great.

you serve this with tortilla chips

    hope this helps...

  9. Order a platter of sandwiches and salads, have a cake, soda and coffee/tea

  10. At most of the baby showers I've attended, the hostess has served cake/cupcakes, nuts, mints, punch or coffee.

If you are wanting to serve some appetizer type foods, I would suggest some chicken or egg salad on a mini slice of rye or wheat bread.   These breads are found in the deli section and are only 2 x 2.      If you cannot find these bread, use a metal cookie cutter and cut the bread of your choice into some neat shapes.   A metal cookie cutter works best.

You could make a standing potato.   Wash and boil red potatoes (skins on).    Slice ends off.   Slightly hollow out one end.   Fill/top with a mixture of sour cream or bacon bits or fancy shredded cheese or green onions.    Store in the fridge till needed.   This type of "potato salad" is great finger food since they stand alone and are small enough to eat in a couple bites.

Tortilla wraps.    Take a tomato basil tortilla, spread with cream cheese, lay in a piece of shaved ham and chopped black olives.   Roll up.   Slice into pinwheels.   Serve with salsa.   You can tailor any type of sandwiches.   All veggies; ranch dressing instead of cream cheese; roast beef.

Cheese cubes.  Vegetable trays.  Wheat thins.

Fresh fruit.   Fresh pineapple is always a hit; strawberries (you could dip some in chocolate); grapes; blueberries; kiwi fruit; melon balls.

Serve coffee (if there are coffee drinkers) or some cappucino; flavored ice teas are also good.

If there will be yound children attending, it is always a good idea to set up a table with activities for the children.     Watercolors, playdough, coloring sheets and crayons.

You might ask the guests to bring a couple of helpful hints or humorous stories about parenting.   Then, compile these in a book for the new mom.

    Good luck and have fun!

  11. I have a fun door prize idea for baby shower.  You make little diapers out of white felt, make tiny squares, like 4 to square of felt you buy,  then fold them like a diaper and put together with a safety pin.  Now, on one of them you smush a chocolate chip and make a "p**p" stain on one.  When everyone comes in have them take a little diaper and sometime during the shower have everyone open their diaper and who ever has the surpise win the PRIZE.

  12. snacks or lunch?  ....  Get some large wrap tortillas, and spread with a little cream cheese.  Put a thin layer of a lunch meat, piece of cheese, lettuce, and roll them up.  Cut on an angle into wrap sandwiches   ..... Hollow out 1/2 watermelon and refill with the cubed melon, strawberries & pineapple  ....   veggie/dip platter  ...  cheese/cracker tray ....  bowls of mints or jelly bellies (pink and/or blue)  ...  trays of cookies & a cake
