  1. Hi there! Oh you just HAVE to go on a cruise! My first cruise ever was last Sept and it was the best trip of my life!!!!!! I'm going on my second cruise this Sept - in three weeks - woohoo!

Our first cruise was on the Carnival Triumph, which is about a medium sized ship. Carnival is cheaper, but I still thought it was a great experience. It was fun, the food was great, and the service was unbelievable! I don't think there is anything wrong with Carnival. I think it's good to go during school months so you don't get many kids on the ship. I think we had about 10 kids, haha, which was great.

This time, we're trying Royal Caribbean - which as you know, is more expensive. We're going on the Mariner of the Seas, which is a HUGE ship! It has an ice skating rink - those are on the Freedom and Voyager classes if I remember correctly (the newer ships). So I won't be able to tell you which is 'better' until after my cruise in three weeks. I think the lines will be different, but both will have great food, shows, and service - I mean, obviously, they want people to come back, haha.

I say, just pick a ship and the ports of call you like - doesn't matter what cruise line it is - you'll have a blast no matter what! :)

  2. Both Cruise lines are great. Carnival being the cheaper of the two.

Royal Caribbean has several ships with skating rinks.

We recommend that you use a 'live' travel agent who only does cruises.

Try this site and give us a call we have over 20 years cruise experience and we do not charge for advice or a booking fee.

  3. My favorite of those two is Royal Caribbean because it has great ships and Yes Royal Caribbean does have about 8 ships that have ice skating.  The ice skating is free too and they provide ice skates.  The ice skating rink is on deck 3 and on two days of each cruise they have a free Ice Capades style ice show

The ships with ice skating are the Voyager Class ships, Adventure of the Seas, Voyager of the Seas, Navigator of the Seas, Mariner of the Seas, and Explorer of the Seas.  A link to a virtual tour of the ship:  http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruis...

The Freedom Class ships also have the free ice skating; those are the Freedom of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas, and Independence of the Seas.  A link to a virtual tour of the ship:  http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruis...

These ships also have lots of other activities that Carnival ships do not have like in-line roller skating on the Voyager class ships, and the rock climbing wall on all of them.

Carnival is the budget cruise line that generally has the lowest prices. They cater to young people, first time cruiser and families. The best of their ships are their newer ships so do pay attention to when the ship was launched is you find a really cheap cruise.

Royal Caribbean is also a cruise line that caters to young cruiser and families. It has the advantage of having the most on-board activities. Things like ice skating, roller blading, mini-golf course, a full sized basketball/tennis court, the rock climbing wall, fabulous gym's, and on the new Freedom Class ships the surfing simulator, called the Flowrider.
