  1. Don't forget the mercurachrome (sp) for wounds caused by sharp tongues, and razors for splitting hairs.

  2. I would think that it would only be appropriate if you got some nice antique looking books and placed them in the center and even possibly used them to place food on top of.  you could also venture in to some nice multi-level stands to almost show the weight of justice by placing the books on a lower one and food on the others... creative?

  3. A justice scale would be the ideal centerpiece for a main table...... Or different sized clear glass vases with just a few varying sizes of grasses in each (clear marbles in the bottom); set on paper that's made to look like old parchment documents (tea stained; frayed or burnt at the edges & slightly rolled up).....  black & white seems like it should be the color scheme.  Maybe you can find a white tablecloth with white script on it, or that looks like an old newspaper, and angle a solid black on top of that - with the vases I mentioned.....  Use different sized stacks of legal books to place some of the food dishes on (if it's a buffet).  Levels make a buffet table more interesting anyways:) .....

  4. I actually loved answer number 2!!!!!  Anyway, here are some ideas you might find useful:

    1.  Newspapers from everywhere, rolled up and tied with colorful red ribbon (what's black and white and read all over??? The newspaper!), placed in small wire baskets.  Insert greenery and white flowers.  Add some votive candles around the table.

    2.  Create placemats by laminating the covers of popular journals and set at each place.  For your centerpieces, use white and red carnations, gerberra daisy's etc. with greenery.

    3.  Balloons tied with strips of newspaper and secured to a stack of journals.
