Planning a memorial?

In a month it will be 1 year since my brother died, I would like to have a open house in memory of him any ideas on how to get people he knew to particapate so my mother can find comfort that he is not forgotten......

  1. Send invitations and request everyone to be prepared to tell a story involving your brother.  


  2. Get a big photo of him and put it in the living room with one of the things he loved in life.  Invite friends by phone or email or letters.  Tell them that it will be a celebration of his life; not a mournful time.  Is that what your brother would have wanted.  Have a sign-in book as a memento. Have each person share a memory of your brother.

    You will have to decide if you want this very quiet and proper and serious      or  more relaxed.   The visitors will look to you for guidance.

  3. Pictures, Maybe have everyone go in his bedroom and pray or talk.
