4wd on gas towing small caravan .Any tips and approx cost on fuel, also national parks to stay that anyone would recommend. cheers !

if you stay away from the coastal areas the national parks are often free to stay and camp, check natl parks on google. Get HEMA books on natl parks and 4wd tracks. fuel, more expensive when moving away from the coast. Petrol, 1,40 to 1,70. There's so much to see on the way up! why towing a van, with tents you're more flex. Fraser Island with a caravan, unless it's a rough terrain one, I don't think you'll reach the ferry.

Maybe get a Vic, Nsw Park membership. Many parks give discounts. Within a few nights stay you'll earn it back!
