Question:

Planning a trip to Australia to work/study - can I get some advice?

I am planning a trip in order to study for three months in Sidney and spend three months working, then I am planning to extend this period and stay for about 1, 2 years, studying and working.

I made a research and the best choices are Toronto - Canada, Ireland and Sidney - Australia.

Would anyone have any advice or tips to give me about it? Where should I stay, best places to work, find jobs, live...?

Thank you all!

  1. Sydney Australia has a lot of jobs, and good pay, you'll need a work/study visa though.  Depending on what kind of work you're looking for....bar/wait person?...office?.....IT?  Accommodation can be expensive so you might want to look at sharing especially if it's only short term.

Not sure on the other cities you mentioned.

  2. Well, I've lived in Dublin Ireland, and Sydney, Australia, but never in Toronto.

I think your best bet would definitely be Australia though.  You'll get a job in Sydney no problem, but have you considered Brisbane instead?  it's like old Australia meets new Australia.  i moved here last year and i love it.  I'm moving on soon though, going to New Zealand.

  3. ok wal first thing is it is sydney not the way you spell it ok a lot of folks go to sydney but try melbourne & working how much knowledge do you have in bar work a lot of aussies like the sound accent of americans and if you are pretty that is another bonus but you did not say what your studying ??
