My guess is Rome/Florence/Venice. I would love to go to Pompeii and Capri, but I'm guessing that might be too much traveling.

  1. I just got back. It was excellent. You have to go to ROME! Yes to Florence as well. Pompeii was awesome and Capri was beautiful. I would also recommend Sorrento it was very nice. My ONLY regret was that I needed more time in all those places!

I didn't go to Venice but I hear its a must see.

    Have fun!!!

  2. If you are only going to Italy once, go to Milan, Venice, Rome, and Florence in that order.  Three days in each.  From Florence it's an easy train to Milan to go back home.  Cities get tiring.  You may consider a few days in the Tuscan countryside.  San Gimignano is a nice small town.  Siena is a nice small city.  Save Pompeii and Capri for you return trip.

  3. Tuscany would be nice. Do a tour, eat some bread and drink some wine, and enjoy the view.

Florence was my favorite, the scenery alone is so beautiful, it made me so happy to be there.

Venice was great bc of the shops.

    Rome bc of the history.

  5. i live in Tuscany it's a nice place.....you should definally visit Rome, Florence,Milan,Venice if you can you should go to Sardinia it's beatifull especially in this season

    ciao

  6. The best place to go for anyone is Rome obv., florence and TUSCANY try to stay in northen areas. Even bellagio which is not far from lake Como a definate must see for anyone. All hollywood stars tend to show up there.

Avoid going to Milan as unless to do with the fashion biz there is not much means to go, it's likely you will get mugged.

  7. if u want to relax it's better not to visit too many places..u should go to venice first and stay a couple of days, then go to florence for 3-4 days..around the city there are a lot of beautiful places, open country and wonderful cities as pisa, lucca, siena...then u can go to rome. if u want to to a different thing, while u're moving from tuscany to rome, go to saturnia , it's on ur way and there are free thermal baths! an enourmous natural bath tub with hot water full of sulphur (fine for skin) and little falls...free! then stay 3-4 days in rome, it's too big and too beautiful u will never visit it all...are u travelling by train or what? pompei isn't too far from rome and it's a very significant place only 2 hours and a half by train..capri is a beautiful but only touristic place, u can avoid it. if u need help email me! viperilla@hotmail.com

  8. You shouldn't miss Venice because it's just unique.  So if you started from Venice and worked your way gradually to Rome you would probably see a lot of Italy, some of the well known and some of the lesser known destinations too (e.g. Mantua).  I would therefore suggest three milestones: Venice; Florence and Rome.  For the rest a good travellers guide to Italy and your initiative should suffice.  I wouldn't venture further south of Rome, not because there is nothing to see (quite the opposite in fact), but because you'd be spending too much time simply travelling.  Enjoy it.

  9. If you land in Venice, follow this itinerary. Venice (two days1/2) Milan (two days 3/4) Florence (two days5/6) Rome (two days 7/8) then take a tour from Rome by Bus to Naples, hydrofoil to Isle of Capri and on to Sorrento (overnight for Day 9). Bus back to Rome(day 10) via Pompeii. Then return to Venice via rail for last three nights (11/12).

  10. Venice is very far from Rome and Florence but worth it all the same. If you're looking for something closer, Perugia & Assisi are amazing. Also, while Capri is a nice island, the Amalfi Coast (eg. Sorrento) is just as amazing and you won't have to take a ferry there!!

    Good luck and enjoy!!

  11. i wish you all the luck, have a nice trip, mack sure to have to spent minimal 300.00 per day, is very expense.careful
