Planning a trip to ireland?

i want to visit ireland without being stuck in tourist traps. i want to see the real people and have an experience i will never forget. any suggestions on where i should visit?

  1. Avoid tourist traps? Go to Wexford, it has better weather, it's cheaper and not a fake tourist town. New Ross is good and so is Enniscorty. Come play golf in Scarke.


  2. it all depends on what you're looking for, if you are looking for nice scenery, good seafood, great music may i suggest Co. Clare, Doolin is a lovely village which wins best music village nearly every year, its small and quaint. it does have tourists but it is a great place that mixes locals and tourists because it only has three pubs so they have no choice and everyone goes out for the same thing "ceol agus craic", it plays great traditional music. You can go out on the ferry to the Aran Islands and Cliff of Moher, as well as go for lovely drives and walks. there are lovely B&Bs and hostels there or there are camp sites near the sea.

    cork city for starters anyway but if you dont want to fall into that tourset trap when you come here go to the local places the locals would eat drink shop and so  i am born here in cork city and from time to time i will go to cobh i wont go and see the tourest thing i will walk around the town of cobh have coffee in one of the cafe`s and i will have a pint in one of the locals bars if i feel like it

  4. clonmel is the biggest inland town in ireland and its a great place to visit
