My husband and I are planning on going for four days in October and will be staying at the Riu Caribe. We are getting in at 9 pm so , is safety going to be an issue? will we get a hard time getting transportation from the airport at that hour? if anyone can help, it would be great, as well as any input on the resort itself!!

  1. if you have the chance to stay in other  hotel, I hope you do it, I don't recomend you that hotel, I went there in january, my husband got sick becasue their food and other people too. they didn't care, they said they have a doctor but you have to pay 100 US. plus any medication.

there are a lot of transpotation taxis and mini buses.

  2. Well, I buy tickets every few months and have been since I was 12, I'm 15.

I use this site to get the best Deals....

    www.travelocity.com

This is also my list on how to get cheaper tickets...

1] Flying in more of a popular airport makes the ticket cheaper

since its more common its going to that area

2] Flying From Monday - Thurdays are cheaper. They usually

raise the price on Fridays, Saturdays, & Sunday

3] Sometimes flying at night is cheaper too!

    Good Luck!

I found a trip for 6 people to Hawaii for only $2,000!!!

  3. no clue

  4. If you booked it with a consolidator than they should have a destination rep there to take you to the hotel.

  5. If you booked through a travel agent, they may be able to arrange for someone to meet you and take you to the hotel.  There are several shuttles and taxis at the airport, and we didn't come across anyone who didn't take American money.  Just use small bills because you'll get pesos as change.

I don't know anything about the Riu Caribe.  It did appear to be more out of the way than the other hotels; it's not right in the mix of everything else, and that may be what you want.  We stayed at the Riu Cancun, and we'd always choose a Riu resort again in the future.

  6. I don't think you should have to worry about your personal safety.  Don't drink the water, ice, or soda from fountains. All the locals will say it is safe, but don't listen.  Be cautious about your credit cards.

My dad and I traveled to Cancun.  When we booked a bus tour to see the pyramids, our tour guide heavily encouraged us to pay with "plastic money."  We found out when we got home that this guide had bought himself pricey mountain bike with my dad's card.

As far as transportation goes, they have plenty of cabs at all hours of the night.  They will sometimes take American money.
