Years ago, there was this excellent place somewhere around Victoria Station. Does it still exist and if so, how do I get there? Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

  1. One of the best is The Golden Hind, not far from Oxford Street.

Fryer's Delight in WC1 is also pretty reliable:

Geales in W8 is worth a visit, but not near Oxford St or Piccadilly.

Avoid the Rock and Sole Plaice in Covent Garden - it's over-priced and over-rated.

  2. Fish! Borough Market

    Livebait, The Cut, Waterloo (£12)

  3. Officially, the best is the Sea Shell of Lisson Grove. Closest Station is Marylebone. It's where most Cab Drivers will take you if you ask for the best fish & chips in London.

Now you've made me want their chips so bad I'll have to leave early and go that way to work!

As for around Victoria, it's still there but I don't know how to bloody find it! I work in Victoria Station and we sometimes get people walking past our with such delicious smelling chips, so I'm assuming they got them from the place you're talking about.
