  1. The "Eyewitness" travel guides are awesome! The "Italy" version covers all of the areas. If you are traveling to a particular city, i.e., Rome, Florence, individual city versions are also available.

If you are a member of Costco, the prices there are discounted, and since we are approaching the holidays, there should be a nice selection.

    Buon viaggio!

  2. Search Amazon.com for AAA guides.

  3. try

  4. Fodor's makes good guides.

  5. I have traveled to Italy five times and spent over a year and a half living there, and I HIGHLY recommend the Rough Guide series. Their hotel and restaurant recommendations are very good, and I feel that they have the best info regarding historic sites, churches, museums, etc. I can't tell you how often I would whip out my book and read about the area I was visiting. I literally read the whole thing cover to cover!

    buon viaggio!
