We are having a party for my daughter, my hubby and my father. Their birthdays are all within the space of 2 days. We wanted to do a BBQ lunch. We were thinking of serving sausages, lamb chops, hamburger patties, and chivape (small spicy sausages) plus salads and cake.

There will be about 40-45 people coming. How much of each do you think we need to get to feed everyone?

Thank you in advance

  1. Pln on 2 pieces of meat for everyone unless there are lots of kids. So 40 X 2 = 80 servings. But you can usually expect a 30% no show rate so 50 servings of meat should cover you. For cake make 2 sheet cakes. You can control the serving sizes and cut the cake accordingly after everyone has arrived. For the salad I'd use my huge catering salad bowl or if you don't have that then get 6 of the largest bowls you have and divide your greens in those.
