  1. I think you can go to Cambodia if you like historical places. In Siem Reap, you can visit the angkor wat, the archeology park. I have been there before. The appearance of the apsaras cravings on the east facing wall of Angkor Wat’s western entrance is really appealling.  Next is Bayon, the cravings of the mysterious stone face at Bayon is almost everywhere at that site. There are quite a number of tower there.

As for fun, you could visit the Old Market (the so-called Phsar Chas) and Night market to fully satisfied  shop addiction for souvenirs and clothes. There is also a Pub Street just a block away from the Old Market for those who enjoy nightlife. You could actually just relaxing at there while having your drinks. You could also shop for branded clothes for cheap price in Phnom Penh, provided that you have to bargain. I have bought a lot of branded clothes for USD4 only.:) As for food, Cambodia served a great varieties of food from Asian to Western. So you don't worry that you and your family can't get used to the food there.:) In addition, if you are going there by your own, it's better that you have a guide by your side. It will really come in handy and helps a lot. Maybe you could tried for the a4trip guidebook like I did last time, it really helped a lot.

  2. 1.  Cruise:  a month long cruise would show you sooo much of the world.  You could have hills one day and do a historical tour or Mayan ruins the next.  Maybe some rafting or hiking the next.  Plus the food is spectacular.

    2.  Costa Rica:  One of my favorite places to visit.  Great ecotourism.  They have a great historical museum in San Jose, and the worlds largest ox cart in Sarchi, and some of the most incredible landscape you'll ever see - along with stunning beaches.  And active volcanoes.  And monkeys.  Food is fun to experiment with, but chicken and rice are pretty much staples.

    3.  Virginia:  I did a trip a few years ago that started in Washington DC then to Shenendoah National Park then west to Natural Bridge Caverns.  We spend some time doing the museums and seeing the sights in DC (the historical portion), then hiked in the National Park (hills and waterfalls), then did the Caves and Wildlife Park at Natural Bridge.  It was a great trip full of diversity and very fullfilling.

    4.  Black Hill, SD:  Mount Rushmore, Deadwood & Wild Bill, Wild Mustang Horse Sanctuary, buffalo, Badlands National Park, prairie dogs etc.  Another place full of fun and excitement.  Unique history, western history.  Plenty of places to hike.  Plenty of educational places for the kids.

    5. Actually any National Park is a great selection.  Most of them have a pretty cool history (especially the older ones) and most of them are beautiful.  Can't really go wrong with a family.

    6.  Egypt:  talk about historical places and what kids hasn't wanted to go to Egypt.  Pyramids!  Haven't been yet - so I have no idea about the food - but I it's on the list to hit within the next couple of years.

    7.  Ecuador:  Galapogos Islands!  Beautiful and Darwin actually walked here!  Going next year - so, again, no idea on the food.

  5. Well, you didn't really specify your spending, but I would suggest Aspen, Colorado. Lots of stuff you can do, but it's cold there, or you can go somewhere in California, but not L.A. I went there, it's not that great. Go to Anaheim if you go to Cali.

  6. For me the best vacation was when i was in Italy. That was the best vacation as they have a lot of happening things. It is famous worldwide for its cuisine, its fashion, the luxury sports cars and motorcycles, as well as for its beautiful coasts, lakes, hills and mountains.
