  1. You need to be alot more aware of gaps and breaks during any scrum or ruck situation. Even in a maul, you will need to go get the ball, break away or be up someones **** when they make a break.

The best thing about being flanker, is your actually expected to p**s off the other teams forwards, get them frustrated and just wind them up

  2. The link below has the answer to everything. Watch players like Jerry Collins and Reuben Thorne to get a better idea of what Blindside flankers do.

You still get to go into the lineout occasionally, but you don't have to put as much effort into scrums since you may have to tackle opposing forwards/halves.

  3. you tend to range alot wider  its part of your job to be a link between backs and forwards and your main job is like the 7 and is too snaffle the ball.

  4. Oddly enough, I played second row and then moved to flanker (now playing number 8). Just remember, the moment the scrum-half touches the ball, you can tackle him. Just watch the knees so you don't break your nose like I did.

  5. dont play flanker its rubbish i used to play there it is one of the worst possitions in  rugby stay at your old possition or go number 8

  6. As a 6 or 7, you play a wider game, not as tight as the "tight 5". The flanker's role is to support the ball carrier, cover, ferret for ball in the ruck and maul. And most importantly, get up the nostrils of the other team and the ref.

  7. you mean flanker?

break fast off the scrum and try and tackle the halfback if your playing open side.

be quick onto the loose balls.

the rest is just the same as second row....eg cleanout, running with the ball etc.....
