Planning on getting 1 or 2 ferrets

Question

What will I need for them? What brands do you recommend? (food, treats, toys, etc.)

Also, these are the names I've come up with. What is your favorite of each?

im getting a ferret too, shes a 7 week old polecat and im stuck for names

the boys are all good but so many ferrets are called milo and dakota even though i loveee dakota!

meeko is my choice lol

for stuff. i recomend a high quality ferret kibble and toys dont spend too much money. they best toys are usuall homemade or your hands

ferrets love tickles and being thrown across the floor and spun and shaken etc. so use your imagination, not your money.

treats well ferretone obviously! they love that s**z. also chicken, ham...the basics ;]

That website will help you alot.  Also, the best ferret food is 8 in 1 Ultimate.  Dont give them any kind of fruits or veggies and they love blankets, socks and hammocks.  My fave names are Annabelle, Dakota and Meeko.

First before you get a girl make sure she is nueterd. And if she isn't then you need to mate her. Cause if  you don't she will die. And kiara & charlie. I would name my boy one elvis.

The BIGGER the better!!!!!!

Food you would need a high quality cat/kitten food. Or a good ferret food. (Marshall's Is NOT a good food. This is high in fiber and ferrets can digest that well.)    One of the best foods you can actually feed a ferret it Eukanuba Adult Lamb and Rice cat food.

Ferrets need to go to the Vet just like cats and dogs. They will need yearly shots.

NBones are good. Most ferrets love them. Please do NOT give your ferret human food. This is not good for them. Even raisins. Although they love them its not good for them.

There are so many toys you can get for ferrets. The site above have a toy section too. But you can even find things about the house. an empty box they love. Cat toys are good too. Balls that jiggle and such are good.

As for litter Carefresh is ok and so is a pellet litter. Do NOT use cat litter this is not good. Ferrets like to sniff a lot and this will get into their lungs.

Tuns of blankets and hammocks. Make sure their nails cant get caught on anything.

Their nails should be clipped on a regular basis. Clear their ears too.

As for baths You shouldnt give them one unless they have got into smoething and need it. Too many baths will strip their body's of oil and will make them produce more, which in turn make them smell bad. When you do give them a bath you dont have to buy ferret shampoo. You can just use a no tear baby shampoo. That can even work better them some ferret shampoos.

For toys, don't get any sqeaky toys, or if you do then just get 1. Squeaky toys aren't good for their ears. Try to get toys that rattle, mine loved those! Also they like those ferret tubes they can crawl through!

For treats, you just need to experiment with different ones to see what yours like. Mine liked yogies, and bandit treats.

For food, i used Marshall ferret food but you can also use certain brands of kitten food.

For cages, you need to get something atleast 2 or 3 stories. We had a 4 story cage for our 2 little guys. Also ferret nation cages are really good! You can get them at petsmart or wherever.

Mine were named Pepper(girl) and George(boy). Out of you names i like Anabelle and Kiara for girl names. And out the boy names i like Niko, or Dakota.

I really recommend you get 2, they are much happier and they will still bond with you. They need atleast 4 hours of out of cage time so if you're not going to be home all the time then i REALLY recommedn getting 2!
