Planning on getting my cartilage pierced?

Question

okay so here is the story: I am turning 13 and my mom says I will probably be able to get my cartilage pierced and my dad doesn't know. But if she says no, I am gonna do it myself. Anyways, I like small pain for some reason it feels good but i don't like high pain. So do you think it will hurt me? Am I thinking about doing it with a gun but if i do it myself i am obviously gonna use a needle but I have no clue what stud to get if i do it myself or if i get it done professionally. I am probably gonna do it on wed. but i am kinda scared. Any suggestions? Any good places to get it done near sacramento, elk grove, ca near that area and anything else i need to know. plz help and thank you. :)

First things first. ALWAYS get pricked by a pro. NEVER get a piercing by a gun. It just pushes the skin to the side. A hollow needle will cut a crescent shape and it will heal faster and better with less scar tissue. So go to a professional. It will also hurt less when done by needle. Studs are not good either. The backs just collect bacteria. You would be begging for an infection. Infections in the cartilage hurt more then the actual piercing in my opinion and are a h**l of a lot more annoying. If your having problems convincing your parents get educated. The more you know and can tell them the more they may think your ready. Piercings are a responsibility.

i got my cartilage pierced. it was a thing my friend wanted to do and she insisted i do it with her. i went to a place in the chico mall. they have places all over malls that can do it. Right when it went in it was a little painful. But OMG! Sleeping was a b*tch! It hurt for FOUR weeks!! But now that i look at it.. it is pretty darn cute. Oh, and they will give you a selection to choose from on the earing that go in.

I agree with the previous answer. DON'T do it yourself. There are too many things that can go wrong. Go to a pro... or at least go to one and ask for advice face to face.

Also, don't use a gun.

i've done three ear piercings on myself and was fine.

when i tried to do my cartlidge again i hit a vein and it bled alot.

so if your lucky you'll be fine. but i would probably go somewhere if you can.

i suggest that you dont pierce your cartilage by your self thats very dangerous, if it was your ear lobe then it probably wont be that bad but the cartilage is different and it can shadder, It can also shadder if you pierce it with a gun and theres a high chance of infection if u pierce it yourself or with a gun.

Its better to go to a tattoo shop where they know what their doing and their needles are staralized :) its safer. Make sure you clean it with the right stuff so it heals good. You should also buy H2ocean and antibactiral soap to clean it.
