  1. If you want tranquil I would suggest a little more up north… if you go any further south than Pompano Beach you will be entering a very high crime area!  I would suggest Port St. Lucie, Stewart, or even Viera/Suntree around Pineda Causeway!!! It may be a little more northern of what you wanted, but houses are cheaper in Brevard County AND Suntree is a safe and beautiful community with A+ schools, PLUS it is 5 min away from the beach!!! Good luck on your journey!!! - Jess

  2. its hot here..... lol i live around Ft. Lauderdale.. be prepared for what we call "no seasons" we have summer (90's with humidity) and winter (70's with more humidity). idk about places but you can check out these links:

  3. I live in New Tampa.  It's nice for raising kids and it's pretty safe.  I'm 21 and I moved here when I was about 11.  To be honest I never really liked it here but being a teen anywhere is hard.  The schools are very close and most of them are good schools. Hope that helped.

  4. Coral Springs isn't too far from Pompano Beach, and it's a lot nicer.

    maybe Margate as well.

  5. I've lived around here for 25 years and I can tell you that you will not be happy with the majority of Pompano Beach. If Pompano is a must, try to find something east of Federal Highway. A major chunk west of Federal Highway is ghetto or approaching ghetto, although there are some pocket areas that are ok...for now, but shopping could put you into a not-so-good area. A much better area and still close to Pompano is the western area of Deerfield Beach (just north of Pompano), all of Coconut Creek and most of Coral Springs (just west of Pompano).

  6. Have fun.

  7. O_O lucky, I wish you well!

  8. I've been in Pompano for 8 years & l have found the place to be resonably safe & sound.  People originally from New York outnumber everybody plus a large snowbird & retired community.  Most commute to Ft Lauderdale or West Palm for work,  which takes about 30-45 minutes on a normal day on I-95.   The closer you are to the beach the better the neighborhood but that also means higher rents & housing costs.   The area around Pompano Square is  mostly houses (not condo or apartments) is family oriented and is near the schools & parks.   The area also has a small airport, the goodyear blimp base, 2 sets of railroad tracks, interstate l-95 & the Florida Turnpike.  "Peacefull" & "Quiet" are relative to where you live.   In addition, several large apartment & townhome complexes have sprung up throughout town.    Most of northern Broward county fits this description.   Hope this helps.
