Planning to buy a video game console (Playstation 3 or Wii) - Need advice?

Question

We (30 year old couple, no kids) are planning to buy a video game console

We have basically shortlisted Wii and PS-3. However, we are not sure which one to go for. Is it true that Wii is more childish and does not have interesting games for grown-ups?

On the other hand, is PS-3 all slam-bam games which will not be enjoyed by women?

Any siggestions?

Wii,

the ps3 is for people who have alot of time in there hands, you being a married couple, i dont think you would enjoy it, PLUS the Wii is more of a casual gaming console, unless your looking to kill alot of time and become addicted, then i would say PS3

ill tell u that the PS3 is mostly just action games

and wii is family games

but the one I chose is Xbox 360 because it has Xbox Live 4 online gameplay and has very good decent graphics

Whoever tells you that the Wii is a console for little kids is either a PS3 or 360 fanboy. The Wii can be played by absolutely anyone who enjoys Nintendo games like Mario, Pokemon and Zelda.

If your girl doesn't like violent games and any other games that have gore or sexual content, then I strongly suggest sticking to the Wii.

The Wii still have interesting games for adults, like Wii Fit, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and even Mario Galaxy was proven to be one of the highest games played by adults.

If you are asking for my personal opinion, then I would say go with the Wii. Nintendo is trustworthy and there have been no complaints about the Wii, so far.

Go for xbox 360 cause it has way better games for people older than 18 and xbox live will kill ps3 and wii

Depends on what style you are, Nintnedo makrets toward the Casual Gamer audience, so peoepl who may have never palyed gmaes beofre and jsut want a quick 20 minute session.

PS3 is aimed mostly at Hardcore gmaers, though they have a range of Causl gmaes too, such as Pixel Junk Eden, Buzz, Supa-Ruba-Duck(suprriisnlgy awesome). yes there are Manly titles liek Ressitnace and Metal Gear Solid, but there are stuff like LittleBigPlanet, Afrika, etc that arent shoot em ups or racing games.

and if you have a HD TV n liek wathcing movies then the Blu-Ray palyer is great jsut to sit back snuggle up n wathc a movie. (though it is best on action movies:P, so want Iron Man on Blu-Ray.

On the other side Wii also has games as Redsteel and Call of Duty, so it too can cater for the serious gamer if you get bored of virtual bowling all the time.

If you look about there are many gmaes on the Ps3 that arent Racers or Shoot em ups, and many gmaes on the Wii that arent jsut Mario or Wiisomthing. have a look at a gmae store at the shelves and see what you want.

Go to the store and look at the titles available.

Wii has alot more titles and is alot more fun; ps3 has done very little to live upto how great the ps2 was. While PS3's more mature games make up a more significant percentage of its library, its library is also significantly smaller. Sony's best titles are still ps2, which more and more ps3s wont play, as sony has decided backwards compatibility is bad.

Alot of the wii games appeal to ALL ages; most of my friends (early to mid twenties, enjoy mario kart, smash brothers, zelda, mario galazy, and more). For a few more mature-oriented titles, check out no more heroes, fire emblem, the metroid titles, resident evil titles, house of the dead, and baroque to name a few. You can also check out old game cube titles, as they'll play on the wii. There were some pretty good, more mature-oriented ones, and alot of them are very inexpensive now.

If you want to have something fun with alot of options, go with the wii. If you want a more mature-oriented system; look into the 360 instead of the ps3. Its got pretty much every strong title ps3 does, and a whole lot more. Buy the 360 with the backwards compatibility, and you can play the old xbox games as well. There are alot of great more-mature oriented games on both the 360 and the original xbox.

personally I'd go for the PS3,

my boyfriend got a ps3 there are a lot of slam-bam games, mostly shooting and driving but there were also loads which I really enjoyed... you can also download loads of fun games when connected to the internet on it, its a lot more adult oriented...

the wii is extremely good fun but definately families-with-children oriented my cousins have one and the whole family love playing on it but the adults dont play on it much alone... my aunty especially loves wii fit though...

maybe check out the websites to see what games they are going to release in the future?

If your a gamer is suggest u get the PS3, Wii is more childish and would be fun if you had kids, which you dont, so I suggest you dont get wii which  probably never going to have anything graphic and filled with action. It mainly likes to stick to our good old pal Mario. I personaly prefer the X-Box 360 but PS3 is close enough. Im a girl and I love the games X-Box 360(PS3 pretty much has the same games as the X-Box 360) has to offer so your woman probably will like them too.

Wii-

has family games sports and cool mario games. Everyone enjoys them. Also has Wii fit.

Ps3-

Has fighting games racing games andthats it..mostly

the wii is fun for everyone.it has real movements unlike your average system(i know em all,I'm 11)the wii is also less expensive and has a wider variety of games.plus it helps burn calories if you need to.i love bowling with my father,and he finally learned how to golf.i love watching

how amazed he is by it's complexion.if you asked me,my answer would be 100% wii!!!oh,and it plays gamecube games so that's cool too.
