  1. If you are worried, I would cancel the trip right now.  That way, you would not worry anymore.

  2. I wouldn't worry about it too much.  Since you're on a cruise ship (i.e. - it's "mobile") the cruise lines can usually modify the order of your ports of call if any hurricane storms pose a threat to your vacation.

If you're overly concerned, I would highly recommend looking into getting vacation insurance when you book your trip.

  3. I wouldn't postpone a trip.  The cruise line won't put you into danger.  I went on my first cruise in April.  The guy that talked my girlfriend and I to go with him and his wife was on a cruise when 9/11 happened.  He's also been on them when their was a hurricane.  I had the same hesitation when I was booking.  However, he told me that they changed their ports to nearby and received credit on future cruises.  The worst that could happen is that you go to another beautiful location and have to use the half off they will give you on another location!  Have fun...

  4. In June 2005, we got caught on the Rhaposody of the Sea in between Tropical Storm Cindy and Hurricane Dennis.

The Captain changed the itinerary, we skipped Grand Cayman and headed to Progresso, Mexico.  They put together some shore excursions and some of the vendors came into town to open shops.

Many people were sick the night we were out running the storm systems.

NOAA is predicting a very active storm season.

You can read the report at

The cruise lines have contingencies for storms so you will be fine while on board.  However, it may not be the vacation you dreamed of.
