Planning to go to bahamas on carnival?

Is it cheaper/better to arrange your own flight to the place where you will board the ship, or to get the package where they include the trip to the ship?

I'm a travel agent, and this is what I tell all my customers.

You may be able to find cheaper air fare to the boat.  But if you arrange your own airfare, go at least a day early because you do not want to be late.  When you arrange your own airfare, being late is no excuse to the cruise line and they will not help you meet the ship at its first port of call.

When the cruise line arranges your airfare, they are responsible for you reaching the ship on time.  If the airline gets you there late, the cruise line will arrange to transport you free to the ship.  They also will compensate you in some way to make up for the lost time at sea.

Added info:  If you think being late is unlikely, think again.  I've had to deal with many irate customers who did not take my advice and lost both time and money by "saving" a few bucks upfront when they booked their own airfare.

you'll enjoy the curise ..its a differnt experince but it is true it is fast flying there ..from floridia its just about 30 min while in a crusie its about 8 hours
