As an extension of my last question. I am plannign to move to the UK within the next couple of years. Atm I am saving for a while. Could anyone give me any tips on where would be the best to migrate to ie Central London, Wembley etc. Keeping in mind that I am Australian and live in a pretty dodgy area as is.

  1. central London is likely to be expensive and not always very safe in the evening ... Wembley would be cheaper but isn't one of the best areas (and by the way, it's not the only place with a large football stadium as the people near to Arsenal's Emirates Stadium know only too well) ... I don't know what Australian dodgy is like but London dodgy is bad news ... you'd be best off trying to afford an area that's not too expensive but not the dregs ... one thing you could do is start looking at websites like www.gumtree.com and www.loot.com and studying adverts and prices, and looking at maps to see whereabouts they are

i assume you've got visa issues sorted? a singer or receptionist are not jobs that we can't fill here in the uk, so you might need something better

basically, london depends on where you can afford to. wembley's on the outskirts, and just on the tube line which is handy for london access, but on match days is probably a nightmare (the wembley stadium is there - holds england football matches, and also wembley arena has huge bands etc)

if you can actually afford to stay in central london (and have a job that lets you keep living there) then anywhere on a tube line is generally a good thing, north london has a better rep than south (eg brixton, lewisham - don't go there...)

if you can't afford to live in london, there are plenty of nearby towns that you can commute in from
