  1. Check out www.jis.gov.jm . That site should have various links for you to gather pertitent information for your research. Good luck & give it all you got!

  2. WELL IT DEPENDS ON WAT YOU ARE INTERESTED IN DOING....

IF ITS BY SANDALS YOU WILL GET PLENTY OF TOURIST BUT I'M PRETTY SURE THERE ARE PLENTY OF TOURIST SHOPS AROUND LIKE WHERE PEOPLE CAN BUY BEADS AND SHIRTS TO CARRY BACK HOME

UMMM MAYBE YOU SHOULD CONSIDER A RESTAURANT WHERE THERE'S NO JAMAICAN FOOD FOR PEOPLE WHO MAY NOT LIKE THE FOOD IN JA

    =D

  3. so your looking for a tourist attraction.

this is a bit too vague... if u want to do something go into merchandising.  all these small hotels and resteraunts have gift shops but no signature product like u would find at a margarita ville

relly though for a good idea ud have to give me more info... if your looking for a working partner let me know... i have lots of great ideas for stuff but no funding!

p.s. is that really the area u want to invest in... other areas will be taking off soon!

  4. check out www.cariblot.com its a free caribbean classifieds it might be usefull for you.  Good luck with your business

  5. Here are a few places that can help depending on your level of experience:

    ticjamaica.com

    jamaicatradeandinvest.org

As far as RESEARCH, i would recommend getting 'on the ground' in the town or area you plan to serve. If you intend to serve locals and tourists directly, survey them yourself. You will not find accurate market research data for less than a few million Jamaican dollars. Even with that spent, it might be inaccurate for your type of business or or out of date.

If you intend to do business with other businesses in the area, such as sandals, concentrate on building contact lists and making social connections with people in control. You may be able to get casual information about the needs of these potential customers.

I can give you more adivce if you let me knwo more about the type of business or the specific area you are going into.
