Question:

Planning toothless dragon help?

Has anyone had any problems with planning. I live in a rural village and everyone is just doing what they want now without planning permission. I have contacted planning who also dont seem to want to know even though green fields are getting ploughed up and roads put in, building built etc. I personally think that planning is a toothless dragon, because so much has gone on I think they just dont want to tackle the problem. Can anyone help. My local authority are a waste of time possibly due to collusion, so I think I need outside help.

  1. the planning permission laws have been relaxed on some things. you should check out the new laws befor you do anythink.

  2. Public awareness through comments to the editor of the local newspapers.  Show up at town meetings.  Talk to everyone you meet.  Plan a meeting with one of your local churches.

    It takes work.

  3. First find out if there is zoning or rules about what can be where?   If not no one is violating anything and if you want rules you will need to work with others who want rules to help get laws passed,

Some ppl feel very strongly that the person whom owns land has a right to do whatever they want with it just as a pareon who owns anything else.   I used to feel very much that way till the folks across the street started a junk yard in front and a meth lab in back.   UGH!  I still believe in a lot of landowner freedoms but see a real need for some protections now.
