In Less then a month I am taking 6 kids ages 10,11,11,12,13, 16 for a karate tournament in Denver, we live in Nebraska. I will have another teacher there to help chaperone, but no parents. All the kids have permission the parents either can't make it or want their kids to go with out them. We will be there for 4 days. Has anyone done anything like this before?

We will stay in a Hotel- here is how I thought for sleeping

I will share with the youngest (10)

and the other teacher will share with the oldest child (16)

then have older child matched up with a younger in a room.

11, 13) (11, 12)

Where are good kid friendly restaurants

Where should I take the kids after the tournament

We have rented a minivan.

HELP ME! I am stressing Out.

What should I have the parent pack. How much money should the kids need, should they bring electronics( they could get lost or stolen)

  1. lets see... well I have lived in Denver all of my life so I hope I can help.

A great place to go would be Six Flags and the Butterfly Pavilion. Both of these places would be great for the children of their age.

The kids should bring probably about 20$ for souviners unless they should pay for their tickets. Then they should bring about 50$ each.

A good kid friendly restraunt is called Cosa Bonita. I dont know how far away it is from Denver but it is a great place! They have waterfalls and shows. It is fun for the kids to run around, have fun, and get their energy out.

Well have fun! I hope I helped!!

  2. Denver Zoo

    and Six Flags

(and a note*: i think you and the teacher should share a room, and the 16 year old should share with the 10 year old*)

  3. Relax. I know this is a lot of responsibility, but the best thing to do is ask the kids what they want to do to keep them happy. Go on www.denver.org and click on what to do. They have tons of recommendations and kid friendly places. Just schedule freetime and keep an eye on the older ones as well.Be careful with the sleeping arrangements. Make sure none of the rooms are coed. Make sure the parents pack comfortable clothing that doesn't wrinkle easily and is nothing too nice in case it get stains on it. If everyone is buying their own meals, plus extras, about 100 dollars minimum, but no big bills and you should keep the money at all times (safer and you know what they are buying). If they bring electronics and other personal items warn them and their parents that you are not responsible if they get lost or stolen. They 12, 13, and 16 year old probably would be okay with the responsibility, but the younger ones get bored more easily. So relax and enjoy yourselves and make sure the parents and children know what they are getting into. Trust is key. Hope this helps!!!

  4. ew no affence why would you sleep with a 10 year old i bet there def not going to want to do that, if i were u get your own bed and the parent get there own bed to thts gross, also i think the two 11 year olds should be in the same room, and the 10 year old, and the 13 12 and 16 year old should have all there same room, or honey just pick the rooms when u get there make it easier and  ask were to go to a kid friendly restaurant, and um maybe like 100-200 dollars each um and let them bring electronics, they will have nothing to do and bug u the whole way and no affence its there ******** choice if they want to bring there own things, tell them if they lose it it isnt ure fault and no affence there def not going to listen to u, to not bringing electrnonics, especially the 16 and 13 year old, the parent should pack what they need u dont have to tell them what she needs or he

  5. ask the hotel were you are staying about the restaurants  and then figure a budget for the meals as for the electronics  make sure the parents know that their child is responsible for their own and if they loose them it's not your fault, there is a zoo in Denver, and there are several neat restaurants go to a Denver web sight there has to be one have ever one bring snacks and let them know that they will be pooled and share and share alike the same with drinks
