Plant biology help!!?!?

Describe the experiment performed that indicates "short day" plants should really be called "long night" plants and "long day" plants should really be called "short night" plants.

short days and long days have to do with flowering time.  short day plants will stop flowering after a certain photoperiod is reached, and long day plants will begin to flower after a certain photoperiod is reached.  or maybe it was the other way around..... calling them long night and short night plants would not be accurate becuase plants don't measure how long the night is, but how long the day is.

phototropism is the effect light has on plant growth

i did an experiemtn in high school to do with this sort of thing

We used tomato seedlings

one seedling was the control it recieved normal light during the day and none at night, another was placed in full light constantly and the thrid was placed entirely in the dark, the fourth was placed in the light for only 6hours a day and the rest in the dark and the fifth was placed in the dark for only 6 hours
