Why CGR graph not started of zero?

Crop Growth Rate is the amount of vegetative material added to the plant or crop over a period of time, usually expressed as mass/area/time.  An example: grams per meter sq per day.  If you can see a leaf, if the seed has sprouted, the plant is growing and therefore will be greater than zero.  Unless you artificially produce an environment and place the crop in a somewhat suspended state, after germination, after growth has been triggered, the plant will always grow at a rate greater than zero (even though it might be a small rate) or it will die.  There is no going back.  It is programmed.
