  1. It depends on what part of NZ. In the north it is possible to grow semi-tropical vegetables (and fruit). I am in the middle and personally grow beans, corn, potatoes and tomatoes but don't plant them until the temperature warms, around September. Earlier than that there is a danger of frost killing the plants or they remain dormant and 'bolt' when it warms. I live in a horticultural area and we grow onions, potatoes, beans, cabbage, cauliflower, broccolli, asparagus, cucumber, corn, tomatoes, capsicums, chillis, silverbeet, spinach, pumpkins, carrots, peas and no doubt others I have forgotten.

  2. i think carrots

    i dont know alot

    you can plant leaves

  3. this time of the year , brocolli , cabbage, leave the rest until the soil warms up , mid sept. onwards, otherwise the seeds will just rot in the cold wet soil

  4. Invest in the Yates Garden Guide, it has heaps of veggie info.

Trust me it's worth it's weight in gold ;)
