  1. Lighting matters meaning wattage per gallon and how many fish producing CO2 and waste. You need a balanced tank. CO2 is present in every aquarium. It is given off by the fish, and as a by product of nitrification. Lighting and CO2 must be at balance or else you will not obtain optimum plant growth, and you risk unwanted algae problems. There is also fertilizer you can use as substrate and or iron drops for your aquarium plants.

  2. get beater lighting first or you will bee in truble

  3. it would help your plants, so it is a good idea, but depending on which plants you have, the co2 and waste produced from the fish would be enough to fertilize the plants.
