Planteur to notch a victory in the 150th Anniversary of Prince of Wales´s Stakes
The Group 1, 150th Anniversary of Prince of Wales´s Stakes is a highly anticipated race, that has reeled 11 runners to compete over a distance 1 mile and 2 furlongs for £283,550 on 20th June, 2012.
In this line-up, Planteur and Colombian may deliver surprising performances. With little to offer considering their past record, they have all the capability in the world to ace this mega-event.
Colombian, trained by John Gosden, delivered a brilliant seasonal debut, when he defeated the Clive Cox trained, Poet, by 3 lengths in the Group 3 Bet365 Gordon Richards Stakes at Sandown on 28th April, 2012, under jockey, William
Buick.
The victory took place over a distance of 1 mile and 2 furlongs on a heavy surface.

Chances are that the son of Azamour, out of mare Clodora, will perform well over the same distance.
The brown and grey colt finished fifth in the Group 3 Betfair Brigadier Gerard Stakes on the same track on 31st May, 2012, to winner Carlton House.
The two runners will come neck to neck again and this time, the four-year-old colt is determined to defeat Carlton House.
Entering the race from post 4, the H. R. H. Princess Haya Of Jordan owned runner will be coupled with rider William Buick again.

The Marco Botti trained, Planteur, will have to bring all he has to the track to take on these runners, but the five-year-old has a lot of experience over a range of tracks that the other runners may not have.
The son of Danehill Dancer, out of mare Plante Rare, began his season at Meydan, where he competed in the Group 1 Dubai World Cup Sponsored By Emirates Airline, under the command of Ryan Moore.
With his solid finish in third place over a distance of 1 mile and 2 furlongs, his form cannot be doubted, since he only missed the victory by 3 ½ lengths to the Mahmood Al Zarooni trained, Monterosso.
The bay horse stood third in the Group 1 Prix D'Ispahan at Longchamp on 27th
May, 2012, as he lost the victory by a small margin of 1 ¼ lengths to, Golden Lilac, over a distance of a mile and 1 furlong.
The Mohamed Albousi Alghafli owned, Planteur, is likely to emerge victorious from this race based on his vast experience on testing tracks. His experience in the Group 1 category will also help him a great deal.
Breaking from post 1, he will be mounted by rider, Christophe Soumillon who guided him to his previous victory in the Group 1 Prix Ganay - Prix Air Mauritius at Longchamp in April, 2011.
